INSTRUCTIONS & PREP SHEET FOR BEDBUG EQUIPMENT RENTALS

THERMAL TREATMENT OF BED BUGS

In order to get the best possible results, we must achieve an ambient room temperature of 130◦F for a minimum of 3 hours.  Bedbugs can lay their eggs anywhere; under no circumstances can anything be removed from the treatment area and/or structure.  All items must go through the heat process unless thoroughly inspected and/or disinfected. In the unlikely event that any items in the room are damaged, American Bedbug Equipment Rentals cannot be held responsible.

Please prepare the room(s) in the following manner:

·        Do Not Remove ANYTHING from the infected room(s). Dresser Drawers ,desk drawers etc  should be emptied and left opened during the process.Any clothing contents should be washed and dryed.

D

·        Linens should be bagged tightly and left inside the room. After going through the heat treatment they can be washed in hot water and dried at the hottest dryer setting.

·        Prepare the bed by removing the headboard and standing it against the wall. Create a lean-to with the box spring and mattress to ensure proper circulation around the mattress.

Point the machine directly at the mattress at some point during the process to ensure it reaches the kill temperature.

P

·        Chair and couch cushions should be prepared in the same fashion.

·        Sleeper sofa must be pulled out.

·        Pull furnishings i.e. Nightstands, televisions dressers, etc. At least 6 inches from the wall.

Special Instructions for window blinds:

Most window blinds have a very low heat tolerance. We recommend they be washed with hot, soapy water before removing them from the room.
